Is it the coffee, the food or the peer support on offer that entices the members of our Northcote DSO group?
A group of parents in the Northcote area have been catching up a regular basis for some time now.
Initially they came together to attend a series of four workshops offered by ACD as they all lived in the first NDIS roll out area and were keen to be prepared for their planning meetings.
After the initial series of workshops, the group decided to meet regularly to catch up and support each other as they individually transitioned into the NDIS.
Every member of the group has had a very individual experience of joining the scheme and they have learnt much from each other.
Some members of the group are now getting ready for their first review.
Through the support of this group each member has gained lots of knowledge about the NDIS, and have had a safe space to share their fears, their challenges and their achievements with one another.
