Over the next 12 months through funding made available through the DSO initiative, PWdWA will be hosting and facilitating a series of NDIS Masterclasses across Perth Western Australia.
DSO project facilitator, Samantha Connor has consulted with people living with disability and their families and supporters about what they want to hear about and come up with a range of interesting masterclass topic events including; the Nuts and Bolts of NDIS, how to write a successful grant application, accessible communities, public speaking and self-management.
On Friday 18th August, the first Masterclass was held at Swan View in Midland with the event topic being how to start a micro-enterprise. Peter Darch and Renae Hartman provided practical tips on how people could use NDIS funding to develop a micro-enterprise. Geraldine Maddrell, Tia and Gina Semi spoke about their journey in setting up the Freo Hub, a shared space where Tia and Sophie operate their micro-enterprises.
